Wyoming State Parks

Wyoming is the home to 12 amazing state parks that span over 100,000 acres of the state's wide open landscape. The stunning scenery of Wyoming State Parks range from granite outcroppings to pristine lakes to mineral hot springs. Whether it is trekking or snowshoeing our miles of hiking trails, swimming in crystal clear lakes or fishing some of the best waters in the region, our state parks are one of the best places to unplug from the everyday hustle.

If you’re traveling with the whole family, kids can partake in Kids eXtreme activities including junior ranger programs, pick up activity books about the parks and sites as well as participate in activities for an opportunity to win prizes from park staff. Our state parks also honor the Every Kid in A Park passes, allowing free access to state parks for 4th graders.

Pitch a tent or park your RV for the night at Boysen, Buffalo Bill, Curt Gowdy, Glendo, Guernsey, Hawk Springs, Keyhole, Seminoe or Sinks Canyon state parks. If you plan to stay overnight in one of Wyoming’s state parks, reservations are encouraged. Learn more about permits and fees here.

Wyoming weather can change quickly no matter what the season, so if you are planning an outdoor adventure, pack layers and be sure to check the weather forecast and road conditions.  Visit Wyoming State Parks for a full list of amenities, activities and things to do or download the Pocket Ranger app.
