Familiarization Tours

The Wyoming Office of Tourism’s (WOT) Visitor Services department organizes Familiarization (FAM) tours in different counties in Wyoming annually.

The purpose of the Visitor Services FAM tours are to provide additional training opportunities for visitor services staff and industry partners through a condensed and focused program.  This FAM is open to any frontline employee in the Wyoming tourism industry who has consistent interaction with visitors to our state.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about Wyoming and encourage visitors to increase their length of stay in our state.

Upcoming FAMs

Join the Wyoming Office of Tourism May 4-8, 2017 for a familiarization tour of eastern Wyoming. We’ll begin this year’s tour in the Northeast corner where we will visit the location made famous 40 years ago in the Steven Spielberg movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Wyoming's and the nations' very first National Monument, Devils Tower. We will have a guided tour around the base of the tower, followed by a special after dark program highlighting the beautiful night skies. We'll enjoy Wyoming’s beautiful Black Hills and attractions such as the Vore Buffalo Jump and the Aladdin General Store. Other destinations include Ayers Natural Bridge and Fort Laramie. Cost will be approximately $650 per person to include all hotels, meals, transportation, and activities. The Office of Tourism will again be offering the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship to help offset costs for a select few. This FAM trip is open only to Wyoming-based organizations that work with the traveling public.
