Media + PR Summary 

Wyoming's publicity team has been working on highlighting the places, spaces, attractions, destinations and experiences throughout the state. Each month, we calculate reach and editorial value for earned media placements. Below you'll find an overview of our top media placements, as well as earned media results. 

Please note that "Top Media Placements" and "Earned Media" include coverage that is a direct result of our public relations program, while "Wyoming in the News" is coverage that cannot be directly tracked back to our program. 

Top Media Placements

The Wyoming Office of Tourism's news release on June 26 announcing the selected adventurer for the "Call of the WY" promotion generated more than 230 placements across the country. In addition, media outreach to key journalists earned Wyoming coverage in FOX News, TODAY, Lonely Planet and PeterGreenberg.com

A media relationship with Katie Jackson enabled Wyoming to be included in two FOX Newsstories in June: one about must-see rodeos that listed Cody Nite Rodeo as number one, and the other about historic reenactments "every American should see" that included the Green River Rendezvous. 

During the Wyoming Office of Tourism's New York City media mission in March 2017, the team met with Jennifer Flowers, editor at AFAR and contributor to TODAY. As a result of that meeting, as well as ongoing conversations with Jennifer, Jackson earned a mention on the show as the best place for couples to getaway this summer. 

Media outreach to a producer with the popular travel site, PeterGreenberg.com, resulted in Cody Stampede's inclusion in the article, "15 Ways to Celebrate the Fourth of July Around the Country."
