The Medical Center at Cheyenne provides primary and secondary inpatient services in medicine and surgery as well as outpatient services in medicine, surgery and psychiatry. Presently, the Medical Center has an operating bed level of 21 hospital beds: 12 general medical beds, 5 intermediate beds and 4 general surgical beds. The Medical Center also supports a 50-bed Nursing Home Care Unit located within the main hospital building. Cheyenne maintains a Regional Office on the grounds of the Center, and Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado, and Sidney, Nebraska.
For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.
Cheyenne VAMC has a Police Service. Our officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial 7315. In case of an emergency, dial 7777. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
The VA Medical Center is federal property; therefore, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.
A nondenominational chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital. Protestant Worship Services and Catholic Mass are held on a regular basis. Please contact Chaplain Service at extension 7377 for additional information or to speak with one of our Chaplains. Chaplains are available from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are on-call at all times for emergencies. If you require a chaplain after hours, the hospital operator can page the on-call chaplain.
