Honoring the National Park Service's 100th anniversary
It's a big year for Wyoming. The National Park Service is celebrating its 100th anniversary and our state happens to be home to an impressive number of nationally recognized landscapes. From Yellowstone (the very first National Park), to Devils Tower (the first National Monument), to the Grand Tetons, 25 National Historic Landmarks and 11 nationally recognized recreation areas, trails and monuments – our scenery plays an important role in this milestone.
How We're Celebrating
The centennial inspired us to reflect on the past and ponder the future. In our feature titled "Majesty Endures," we looked at some of the oldest photos of our nationally recognized landscapes and recaptured the same spots today. Add to the collection by sharing your own "then and now" photos with the hashtag #WYMajestyEndures and watch for our next piece titled "The Next 100 Years," which will showcase locals' predictions for the next century.
Join the Fun
We're asking you to join the fun and celebrate the centennial in your own way. To help, we've put together a toolkit of National Park Service assets. Just download the kit below and use it to promote your own nationally recognized treasures. Don't forget to join the social conversation by using the #FindYourPark hashtag throughout the centennial.
Join the Wyoming Office of Tourism this summer as we celebrate Wyoming's rich paleontology history!
